Voltric

Voltric specialises in electric car subscriptions and its mission is to address the affordability of EV’s. The company is based in Newport, Wales and customers have a limited choice of vehicles which are available on a month-to-month subscription or you can commit to a 12 or 24-month contract.

How it Works

With Voltric, drivers must be over the age of 25 years old and you must have a minimum of 2 years’ driving experience and no disqualifications within the last 36 months. You can also have no more than 1 at-fault insurance claim in the last 3 years.

Customers can choose between a month-to-month car subscription, 12 month agreement or a 24-month contract, all you need to do is choose a delivery date and the car will arrive.

Customers are able to download the Voltric app which provides driving details and allows you to monitor your account. You are also able to pause, cancel and resubscribe to a vehicle via the smartphone app.

Costs and Fees

Voltric’s vehicle subscriptions start at £500 per month but this is based on taking a vehicle for 24-months. If you need a shorter contract, the price does increase but this is clearly displayed on the website. There is a non-refundable activation fee to pay, this currently starts at £199.

If you take a 12 or 24 month contract, you are able to end the agreement by giving 30 days’ notice but an early termination charge of one month’s fee or 20% of the remaining payments, whichever is higer.

Brands and Models

Voltric currently offers a choice of 6 vehicles:

  • Fiat 500e
  • Kia eNiro
  • MG ZS EV
  • Mercedes EQA
  • Tesla Model Y
  • VW ID.3

Notice Periods

To cancel a subscription, 30 days’ notice is required. Early termination charges may apply on 12 and 24-month contracts.

Comments about Subscription Provider

Whilst Voltric’s vehicle choice is small, the signup process is nice and simple and uses Stripes Verification service to check you, we understand that you do not require a credit check to take a vehicle subscription with Voltric. The prices aren’t the cheapest around but with insurance and a generous mileage allowance, it should provide a good option for those who don’t mind committing to a 12 or 24-month subscription to get the best price.

Conclusion

Voltric is another vehicle subscription focusing on electric cars and whilst not the cheapest, the service might be open to a wider audience due to the easy signup process and verification checks. It is a great company to use for those who want to try an electric vehicle without committing to something long-term.
