Until the Volvo EX90 arrives, the Volvo XC90 can tick the box for those looking at making the journey from ICE to BEV, with a plug-in hybrid version available alongside Diesel and Petrol versions, both of which have mild-hybrid technology built-in.
Internally the car is extremely comfortable, with 7 large seats and a spacious boot. The in car entertainment includes Google Auotmotive Services, with familiar google maps and other apps to help you along the way. Of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included.
Competitors to the XC90 include the BMW X5, Land Rover Defender, Mercedes GLE and the Audi Q7. But we’d stick with the Volvo XC90 for many reasons.
Derivatives are nice and simple with Core, Plus and Ultimate levels available in the line-up. All have a great standard specification, but if you want all out. Opt for the Ultimate edition, Plus as a minimum.
