We’ve already focused our attention on the Mercedes-Benz GLC before, just click the highlighted text to read more. But is this car one of the best premium mid-size GLC’s in the market?

The SUV market is on fire in the UK at the moment and the one that cannot be ignored is the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. It’s a premium car sat in the mid-size category. It’s competitors include the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Volvo XC60.

The vehicle has been recently revised to the same standard of the new C-Class, including the updated MBUX system along with introducing more mild hybrid parts in their ICE engines.

The Mercedes GLC is one of the best looking cars on the road especially when compared with the dated looks of the Audi Q5 and the Volvo XC60 which are overdue an upgrade.

Derivative-wise in the UK, the AMG Line is standard across the range with step ups to the Premium and Premium Plus model, with each notch giving you a bit more equipment. The AMG Line standard model has ample equipment onboard for most drivers including heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and the super large MBUX screen.

Internally

The car feels very spacious inside and even those who have to be pushed to the back seats, you’ll find plenty of head and legroom. As per most ICE’s there is the usual chassis tunnel, but it doesn’t take up too much space.

Boot space is also excellent at 600 lires in the standard Diesel and Petrol models. It also features a nice flat loading area.

Driving

You won’t be disappointed with the Mercedes GLC and the Petrol version is our favourite. It has plenty of power for pulling off for the lights and feels incredibly nippy around town.

On the motorway, the car is quiet and more importantly comfortable. Cruise control comes as standard unless you opt for the top of the range premium plus model, where you get adaptive cruise control.
